Cardborigami is fund raising to implement a collaborative pilot program called “transitionME: a 4 step path out of homelessness” which involves partnerships with many homeless aid organizations in LA. Step 1 is to provide our program participants immediate shelter and privacy with ownership of a Cardborigami. These shelters will be used and stored within a partnering organization’s facility in a safe environment. Step 2 is to provide connections to services and tools to re-integrate participants into society. Step 3 is to get participants into permanent housing. Step 4 is to help individuals sustain housing through job placement.

Cardborigami aims to help 10 homeless youth transition completely off the streets with the implementation of the transitionME program. The time frame allocated to get program participants into permanent housing is 10 to 12 months. Once graduated from the program, having completed each of the four steps, the participant will be permanently housed, be able to sustain that housing status, and be fully equipped with the skills necessary to navigate society. For these participants the impa ct will be something that lasts their entire life. Once transitionME is proven successful, with each permanently housed program participant. We can scale up and help hundreds if not thousands of people who are experiencing homelessness, not only in Los Angeles, but all over the United States.
